Prestage Farms sees the importance and accepts responsibility of supporting and enhancing its communities. By purchasing supplies and services from local sources whenever possible, we strive to contribute to our local economies.
Our employees and growers share our passion to be active participants and contributors to our communities. Through donations of time and resources to civic groups, fire departments, rescue squads, education, and the arts, our employees and growers help communities provide the best possible quality of life for all its citizens. Via payroll deduction campaigns and individual gifts, the employees of Prestage Farms contribute over $75,000 annually to organizations such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the United Way, and local hospitals.
Recognized as a leader in philanthropy, the Prestage family, Prestage Farms, and its affiliates enhance their communities through contributions to local school systems, the Arts Council, community theaters, county agricultural fairs, 4-H, Future Farmers of America, the Boy and Girl Scouts, civic groups, and local hospitals.
Prestage Farms recognizes the importance of education and training to prepare and grow a workforce that is ever ready to meet the challenges of a multifaceted business. We are honored and feel a necessity to contribute to programs of higher learning who share our passion for agribusiness and animal food production. In 2012, the Prestage family made a transformational gift to the Department of Poultry Science in NC State University’s College of Ag and Life Science. This gift named and endowed the department the “Prestage Department of Poultry Science”.
At Prestage Farms, we want to connect with our communities, engage in the activities and resources around us, and enhance the way of life of our employees, our growers, and our neighbors.Community Responsibility Statement downloadable PDF
